About Me
Born in Eskişehir in 1981, Gülen Ege Serter graduated from Anadolu University State Conservatory, where she was accepted in 1990, with "First Class" in 2001. She received "Honourable Mention" in the "Young Talents Violin Competition" organized by the Ministry of Culture in Ankara in 1998, and "First Prize" in the "Young Talents Violin Competition" jointly organized by Anadolu University and the Rotary Club in Eskişehir in 2000. Gülen Ege Serter was also deemed worthy of Anadolu University's 2012 "Art Encouragement Award" and Yunus Emre Rotary Club's 2015 "Service Award". The artist was appointed as a research assistant at Anadolu University State Conservatory in 2001. In the same year, with a YÖK scholarship, she went to Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, Prof. She was sent to receive proficiency training in art in M. A. Gotsdiner's class. She completed her education successfully and returned to Turkey in 2004.
The artist was awarded the ‘Chamber Music Ensemble of the Year’ award at the Donizetti Classical Music Awards organised by Andante Magazine in 2017 and the ‘Professional Services Award’ given by Yunus Emre Rotary Club in 2019 with the Nemeth Quartet, of which she is a violin member. Gülen Ege Serter has appeared as a soloist in orchestras conducted by Ender Sakpınar, İnci Özdil, Hakan Kalkan, Murat Sümer, Krastin Nastev, Cemi'i Can Deliorman, Ledezma Bradley, Tulio Gagliardo Varas, Nikos Haliassas, Oğuzhan Balcı, Oğuzhan Kavruk and Munir Mesanovic, In addition to her concerts in Turkey, she has performed in Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, the Netherlands, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Tunisia, Slovenia, Greece, Venezuela, Israel, USA, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the People's Republic of China, Italy, Pakistan, Panama, Argentina and Georgia. The artist took part as an instructor in important violin events such as CAKA, Bilkent Violin Days in Turkey and gave master courses in different countries.
Gülen Ege Serter, the author of ‘Right Arm Techniques in Violin’, was promoted to associate professor at the age of 27 and to professor at the age of 33. The youngest professor in her field in Turkey, she is currently a faculty member at Anadolu University State Conservatory.
